Young Folk at the Hall - Corner Brook 2013

The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society would like to thank Fergus O’Byrne for putting off another great Young Folk event – the first of its kind in Corner Brook. On November 15, 16, & 17, sixteen young folk aged seven to eighteen took part in a free workshop series in traditional music at Gary Bennett Music. A concert at the Legion culminated the weekend, with appreciative family and friends in attendance.

“What was very rewarding to witness was the camaraderie that quickly developed among the young participants. My hope is that some of the children will continue to stay in touch both musically and as friends.”

The NLFAS is proud to support this initiative, and looks forward to hearing more from our budding young musicians. Young folk in the Cornerbrook area are encouraged to check out the Sunday session at Brewed on Bernard from 4-6pm weekly. They have a Facebook group here.
